Barbara Doncourt Whitaker of Somers NY passed away on January 12, 2013. She was born on May 5, 1931 in the Bronx, New York to Robert and Arline Doncourt. Barbara is the beloved mother of Sam Whitaker, sister of Robert Doncourt, aunt of Caroline Schott and Rob Doncourt, great aunt of Casey, Levi, Rob and Katie. She was predeceased by her daughter Corwin Doncourt Slayton. Barbara had wonderful friends who she loved and they loved her too. Barbara was a graduate of Dean Junior College in 1950. She majored in Art and used her gifts as a homemaker, gardener, gallerist and chef. She loved good food, her family, friends and her heart held a special place for her faithful companion Lola. Her spirit will live on in all of us. She will be remembered and missed.
