Obituary of Alberta B. Gunther

Gunther, Alberta B. (Glosque), formerly of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and most recently of Yorktown Heights, NY passed away on February 15, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born May 25, 1926 to Otto and Catherine (McCormick) Glosque of Yonkers, NY. Earlier in her career she worked for Bell Telephone Company. On April 17, 1949 she married Martin Gunther, Jr. She later worked for Office Help Temporaries aka Manpower until her retirement. Beloved wife of the late Martin Gunther, Jr. Devoted mother of Edward (Barbara) Gunther of Yorktown Heights, NY and Diane (William, Sr.) Neczesny of Morris, NY. Cherished grandmother of David, Andrew and Eric Gunther; Michael Neczesny and Katherine (Rory) Doherty and great granddaughters, Kayla and Taylor Doherty. Survivors also include her step grandchildren Jason Neczesny, Nicole (Michael) Alteri, their son, Zachary and Rochelle Neczesny and her son, Nicholas Scano. Also surviving are an aunt, Josephine McCormick of Mechanicville, NY and brothers-in-law V. William (Carol) Gunther and John (Marilyn) Gunther, both of Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families who affectionately called her "Sweet Aunt Bert." She was predeceased by her husband, Martin Gunther (1994), a sister, Marie Phillipp (1975) and a grandson, William Neczesny, Jr. ("B.J." 1985). The family would like to thank the staff of Hudson Valley Hospital in Peekskill and Veteran's Retirement Home in Montrose for the wonderful care they gave our mother during her final months. She is reposing at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Hastings at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 19. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Uniontown Fire House or the Hastings Ambulance Corp, both in Hastings-on-Hudson would be appreciated.
