Obituary of Rosanna Roth

Please share a memory of Rosanna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosanna Sarno Roth, 96 years young and a lifelong resident of Yonkers NY, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013 in the presence of her loved ones. Born to Achilles and Carmella (DePaolo) Sarno, Rosanna was blessed with two sisters, Margaret Sarno McGill and Edith Sarno Ditrano and seven brothers. James Sarno, Dick Sarno, Tony Sarno, Henry Sarno, John Sarno, Jerry Sarno and Arthur Sarno all were distinguished news photographers and builders. After graduating from Commerce High School, Rosanna was trained by Remington Rand to operate the earliest Punch Card Accounting Systems. She then went on to a remarkable thirty year career supervising and training others to use those systems at Benjamin Moore Paints on Canal Street and later Fifth Avenue. An avid traveler, Rosanna never hesitated to accept an invitation to explore a new part of the world with one of her many beloved friends. Her style, spirit, independence and joie de vivre were an inspiration to all who knew her. Rosanna married Christian Roth in 1968 and their home became the center for memorable holiday family gatherings. Although Rosanna had no children of her own, she was the beloved aunt and matriarch of the family. Aunt Rose, as she was known to all, will be forever remembered and loved by her devoted nieces and nephews Karen McGill Bronson (Bill Lynch), Lawrence Sarno (Janet Sicklick), Vincent (Anita) Ditrano, Virginia (Dan) Baxter, and Richard (Bobbie) Sarno Jr. as well as her dear friend Mary Lynch. Her greatnieces and nephews, Brendan (Trisha) Bronson, Richard (Lucyann) Sarno, Kate Bronson (Drew) Shave and Arthur John Sarno will hold her close to their hearts and keep her stories alive by sharing them with her grandnieces and nephews Isabella, Landon, Luke, Lawton, Leo and Aliana. Rosanna's large extended family will reflect her love and care for generations. Friends are invited to call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue this Palm Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew Church on Monday at 10 am. Entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
