Gary E Doerr, 69, died peacefully at his home in Ossining NY surrounded by his family. Gary was born in Queens, NY to Lester and Virginia (Bisbee) Doerr. He has been a 60 year resident of Westchester County and a local business owner of Doerr's Garage, Chappaqua, for 40 years.
Gary achieved National & International success in Enduro & Cross Country motorcycle racing, achieving 5 US masters amateur championships. He also achieved the honor of racing on the US team in 2 ISDE events. Most recently Gary had become a champion Silhouette shooter and avid member and instructor of the NRA traveling the county to participate & support events.
Gary leaves behind is wife, Colleen Kelly, his son Robert Doerr and Rob's wife Karon and their daughter and Gary's beloved granddaughter, Lily. Gary also leaves his two step-sons, Sean McGinness and his wife Colleen Braunbeck, and Brian McGinness and his wife Angela and their two children, Owen and Pearl. In lieu of flowers Gary requests donations be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project.
