James C. Smith, age 40, of Fleetwood, NY, and former resident of Winchester, NH, died Monday April 1, 2013 at Westchester Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, NY. He was surrounded by the love of his family and friends his last days. Jim was born on December 18, 1972, in Brattleboro, VT, the son of (the late) James Smith, and Francis "Ginger" Glebus Smith. Jim was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother-in-law, and friend. Jim graduated Northeastern University in 1996 with a BA in Journalism. Our very own "Mad Man", Jim spent the last 10 years of his career as Creative Director at G2 in Manhattan, where he worked on campaigns for the likes of Liberty Mutual Insurance, Capital One Bank, Time Warner Cable and pro-bono work for the Starlight Foundation. Prior to G2 Jim was a copywriter at Rapp Collins Worldwide. An avid Boston sports fan, Jim was a proud card carrying member of Red Sox Nation, as well as a lifelong Celtics and Patriots fan. More than anything he loved spending time with his surviving wife, Jennifer and their 3-year-old daughter Sophie. Married in 2007, Jim and Jenn did not waste any moments together. In addition to Jim's mother, Ginger Smith, he is also survived by his father-in-law, Rich Basso, and sister-in-law, Jessica Basso. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be missed beyond words. Friends may call on Friday, 4/5, at 2-4 & 6-9 pm at Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704 (914-963-5263). The funeral will be Saturday, 4/6 at 10:00 am at Annunciation Church in Crestwood, NY. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established in the name of Sophia Rose Smith. Any contributions please make payable to Jennifer Smith and send to her attention at 290 Collins Ave, apt 7C, Mount Vernon, NY 10552.
