Joseph J. Rubeo a lifetime Yonkers resident died suddenly on April 10, 2013. Born March 20, 1937 to Peter A. and Angelina (Tartaglione) Rubeo. Joe was an entrepreneur. In the 1950's, along with other family members, he purchased the lease for Indian Point Amusement Park and operated many concessions there. He was the co-owner of Hasting Mfg. and R&J Novelty, which specialized in fashionable high end costume jewelry. However, his greatest passion was horses. Under the name Joe Rubeo Stables, he owned and raced standard-bred horses in Yonkers and Monticello, passing on that passion to his son. Joe was also an avid Yankee fan and a generous contributor to many animal charities. He loved and enjoyed life to the fullest and will be truly missed by his family and countless friends. Beloved father of DonnaMarie Paladino, Joseph (Brandi) Rubeo, Jr. and Jennifer Ann (Bob) Kliegl. Devoted brother of John (Betty) Rubeo and Peter (Sharon) Rubeo Jr. Cherished grandfather of Annmarie, John, Hailey and Alexis. Loving fiancee of Paula Lumalcuri and former spouse of Anne Marie Rubeo and Marie Kennedy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Saturday and Sunday from 3-7PM. Funeral mass at St. Ann Church on Monday at 11:00AM followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to the ASPCA (HSUS) or the World Wildlife Fund.
