Joseph Sica Sr., a longtime Yonkers resident, died peacefully on April 16, 2013. Born on October 6 , 1932 to Sabato and Anna (Bifolco) Sica in Salerno, Italy, he was 80. From 1950 to 1956 he served as a carabinieri or Italian policeman in Sicily where he met his wife, Dina Incalcaterra. She predeceased him in 1978. In 1957 he came to the United States and settled in Yonkers. For many years along with his family he owned and operated D&D Garden Center on Tuckahoe Rd. retiring in 2008. Beloved father of Joseph Sica Jr., Anna M. Sica and Pat (Lisa) Sica. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Patrick, Joseph, Nicholas, Vincent and Luca Sica. Loving brother of Americo, Antonio, Gerardo Sica, Annamaria Rega and the late Luigi, Vincenzo and Alfonso Sica. Also surviving is his longtime companion, Rosa Sorvillo and her children Michael and Antoinette Palanca. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Thursday (today) from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral mass at St. Ann Church on Friday at 11:00am. Entombment Ferncliff Mausoleum.
