Anthony F. Cancellaro, a lifetime Yonkers resident died peacefully on June 15, 2013 at the age of 93. Anthony served in the United States Army during WWII in China and was a decorated Staff Sergeant. For 25 years he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Yonkers. His generous and accepting nature set an example by which his family will always live. A devoted husband to Elizabeth (Betty) for 44 years and a caring and compassionate father and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. Betty predeceased him in 1990. Anthony is survived by his sons, Robert (Minnie) Cancellaro, James (Mary) Cancellaro, and two daughters, Toni (Nicholas) Volchok, and Cecelia (Eric) Cancellaro. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a brother, Vincent DeAngelo. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Monday (today) from 5-9 pm. Funeral mass at St. Mary Church on Tuesday at 10 am. Entombment Mount Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Visiting Nurse Service of Lower Hudson Valley preferred.
