Obituary of Daniel Reyes-Goldberg

Daniel (Danny) Reyes Goldberg of Yonkers, NY, died Friday July 19, 2013, at the age of 33. Danny is survived by his parents, Carmen Gomez-Goldberg, Harvey Goldberg, and Jose Reyes; his twin sons, Daniel and David Reyes Goldberg, his sisters, Mai Reyes Vanderpool, Nancy Reyes, and Elena Goldberg Velazquez, and his twin brother David Reyes Goldberg, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was Godfather to Amanda Reyes Goldberg and Nianna Rae Degree, and he was the godson of Coach Tony DeMatteo. Danny was a graduate of Roosevelt HS, and played center and defensive tackle for their NYS Championship-winning football team in the late nineties. He was employed by the City of Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. Danny was a beloved brother who was, in many ways, the glue that held his family together. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and always put others before himself. He lived his life with patience, devotion, and humor, and left a legacy for all those that knew him. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-9 PM at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers. Funeral mass on Wednesday at St. Peter's Church, Yonkers at 10AM. Interment to follow.
