Albert J. DeStefano of Hudson, Fl. formally of Yonkers, passed away peacefully on Oct, 8 2013. Beloved son of the late Dominick and Mary (Severino) DeStefano. Loving husband of Laura (Penzo) DeStefano. Dear father of Douglas, Candice, Albert (Barbara), Jill Messina, Donna Adams (Christopher), Madeline DiMartino (Joseph). Devoted grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 2. Al is predeceased by his brothers Frank, Daniel, Carmine, Edward, and sister Grace Jewels. He is survived by his sisters Gloria Duchin and Jean Merrinan, and many nieces and nephews. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. Friends may call on Thursday from 5PM to 9PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 at Sacred Heart Monastery Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 ( www.stjude.org) in his memory.
