Obituary of Donald W. Trotta

Donald W. Trotta, 72 of Mt Kisco, NY died peacefully, after a long illness surrounded by his family on Sunday, Oct 27, 2013. He was born on April 25th, 1941 in Bronx, New York, to Richard and Helen Trotta and was a longtime resident of Mt. Kisco. He graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY. Donald worked for the Mt. Kisco Post Office for more than 25 years, and later founded Trotta Contracting Company. He was a proud and active member of the Mount Kisco Mutual Volunteer Fire Department for more than 50 years. He served as the Financial Secretary for the past 12 years and briefly on the Board of Fire Commissioners. He was grateful for the unwavering support and kindness of the Fire Department's members until his last day. Donald was a loyal Yankee fan, avid skier, and devoted father and grandfather. He was strong, independent-minded and took great pride in his professional and community accomplishments. He leaves behind a large loving family, children Christopher (Kim), Haylen (John), beloved grandchildren Jack, Joe, and Luke, and siblings Barbara Ann, Rosemarie, Tommy, Robert, Patti, and Betsy and the late Richard. He will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. The Visitation will be held Friday November, 1 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home 262 E. Main St. Mt Kisco, NY 10549 and the funeral will service be held at the Presbyterian Church, Route 133, Mt. Kisco on Saturday November, 2 at 1:00pm. Burial will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery on Lexington Avenue in Mt. Kisco. Donald requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mt. Kisco Mutual Fire Department at 99 E. Main Street Mt. Kisco.
