John G. van Hooff, age 87, of Yonkers died Tuesday, December 3, 2013. John was born June 30, 1926 in the Netherlands, the son of the late Lambertus and Josephina Adriana Maria (Vugts) van Hooff. John was an Executive Chef for several restaurants in NYC and the Holland American Line. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and birds. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Stefan) van Hooff, his loving children Donald van Hooff, John (Clara) van Hooff and Christine (Matthew) Reynolds. Dear brother of Gerard van Hooff, Johanna van Dyk, Tini van Hooff, Frieda van Gool and the late Adrian van Hooff. Cherished grandfather of Kimberly van Hooff, Matthews Reynolds, Kevin Reynolds, Jonathon van Hooff and Vanessa van Hooff.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Jansen Hospice, 670 White Plains Road, Suite 213, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
