Obituary of Giuseppe Zoccali
Please share a memory of Giuseppe to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Giuseppe (Joe) Zoccali, 58, of Somers, New York passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Joe was born to Vincenzo & Annunziata Zoccali on May 15, 1955 in Bagnara, Calabria, Italy. He was the youngest of five siblings, Domenico, Annunziata, Vincenza, and Rocco. With hope and ambition, Joe immigrated to America with his brothers to pursue a better life than the one he was leaving behind.
With an entrepreneurial spirit, Joe and his brother Rocco launched Z Bros. Auto Inc. in July of 1977. In 1991, Joe helped his love, Phyllis Procopis, launch the Pastry Corner Inc., a gourmet bakery, less than one mile up the street from Z Bros. Auto. Joe profoundly touched the lives of everyone he met. He enjoyed walking around the town and helping all in any way he could. His creativity, ingenuity, and kindness will forever be unmatched.
Joe is survived by Phyllis, whom he loved deeply and cared back to health during her battles with illness. Joe was very proud of his son Joseph and his wife Jessica, and his two daughters Nancy and Elisa.
Joe passed away of pancreatic cancer, which he battled with the strength and determination of a champion for the past twenty months.
