Luis Ramon Ramirez, 58, of Bronx, NY passed away on November 1, 2013. "Luisito" was born December 13, 1954 in Barahona, Dominican Republic, to Carmen Ramirez and the late Ramon Tavares. Predeceased by his brother Freddy. He is survived by his daughter, Carmencita Dos Santos of Boston, Massachusetts and, beloved grandchildren Allan and Gabriella. He also leaves behind brothers Jose Ramirez of the Dominican Republic and Octavio Ramirez (wife Maribel) of Lynn, Massachusetts, and sisters Clara Cohen (husband Jeff) of Rockland County, NY, Alexandra Lamarche (husband Miguel) of Malverne, NY and Celeste Heggie (husband Wayne) of New York, NY and many dear nieces and nephews. Luisito was very proud of his Dominican heritage. He enjoyed going to all cultural events, especially, the Dominican Parade. He also enjoyed getting together with childhood friends from his native town of Barahona to reminiscence about their time growing up. His family knew as "Luisito" and his childhood friends as "El Blanken" (el blanco). We will miss him dearly, especially his laugh. May you rest in peace, dear brother. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 6, 2013 from 2-9pm at Thomas C. Montera Funeral Home, 1848 Westchester Ave., Bronx, NY 10472. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 7, 2013, at 10:00AM at St. Athanasius in the Bronx. Interment will follow immediately after at St. Raymond Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations are made to the American Cancer Society.
