Arthur James Hayden died on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at age 71. He was born on December 18, 1942 to Walter and Eileen (Griffin) Hayden in Yonkers where he was raised and attended local schools. Arthur was a proud member of the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Kankakee during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was retired from the Town of Greenburgh. He was a member of the VFW Post in Yonkers and the American Legion in Hastings. Mr. Hayden is survived by his wife Kathleen, three sons, Stephen, James, and Andrew (Joan) and grandchildren, Trevor, Ciara and Devin Hayden, also by his sister Nora (Joseph) Kirwan and was predeceased by his brother Walter. Visiting hours will be at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706 on Sunday from 2PM - 4PM & 7PM to 9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Matthew Church on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 10AM. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
