Donato "Danny" DeMatteis, of Yonkers, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Danny was born in the Bronx on January 12, 1932 to the late Pietro and Luigia Saracino DeMatteis. Danny served his country proudly during the Korean War. In 1961 he married Eleanor Ortlieb and in 1967 his greatest joy in life, Danielle, was born. For four decades he worked as a heating professional for the former Cibro Petroleum Company in the Bronx. Beloved husband of Eleanor DeMatteis. Devoted father of Danielle DeMatteis. Cherished brother of Carmela and Anna and the late Mary. Also survived by his nieces and many friends. He will always be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, warm heart, sharp wit, and fierce independence. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue, on Friday from 5-9 PM.
