George F. Krell, 79, longtime resident of Armonk, died April 2nd, in Fort Pierce, Florida. George was the son of the late Francis G. and Hannah (Humphreys) Krell. George is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen (Robbins); their five children, Scott (Kathleen) Krell of Liverpool, NY, Susan (James) Quigley of Brewster, NY, Stuart (Donna) Krell of Lutz, FL, Stephen (Susie) Krell of Liverpool, NY, and Stacey Krell of Harrison, NY; and a sister, Janet (Graff) of Bradenton, FL. George is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and a nephew. George was raised in Armonk, and was a 1953 graduate of Pleasantville High School. George spent many years as a land surveyor, working for Chas. H. Sells Surveyors, until moving to Florida in 1991. Of his many accomplishments, George was most proud of his lifetime membership in the Armonk Independent Fire Department. Always ready to serve, he moved through the ranks and was elected Chief of the Department, where he served from 1967-1969. During his membership, he also served as Fire Commissioner and was heavily involved in the purchase of a new fire engine, his beloved, "249". Friends may call on Thursday, April 10th from 4 PM to 8 PM at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, April 11th at 10 AM followed by burial at Middle Patent Cemetery, Bedford, NY.
