i love the shutter idea!!!! or an old wnodiw with chalkboard paint on the glass so you can't see the niche? or maybe a big mirror with a wreath or mossy letter hanging on it?? you could also put a big canvas up there for artwork on the cheap can you tell how many mantle ideas i can come up with since I.don't.have.one.anymore?? . tears
