Catherine T. (Stelben) Lavachielly, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2014 in San Diego, CA.
She was born to John and Nora Stelben on December 20, 1927 in New York City. Her family moved to Yonkers, NY in 1942 where she graduated from Gorton High School in 1946.
She married Emil L. Lavachielly of Hastings on Hudson, NY on September 24, 1949 who predeceased her on July 2, 1982. She leaves two children, John and Tina and one granddaughter, Sebrinna.
She worked for twenty six years as an instructional aide at the Hillside Elementary School in Hastings, where she touched many young lives. She also was very proud to have worked as a unit clerk in the ICU at St. John's Hospital in Yonkers for 20 years.
Catherine is also survived by two brothers John and Robert and six nieces and grand nephews who brought her great love and joy.
Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring St, on Sunday June 1, 2014 from 4-8 PM. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
