Rosario "Ross" Cutri, age 94, of Bedford Hills, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 19. Ross was born and raised in Solano, Calabria Italy to the late Antonio and Carmela Cutri and migrated to the United States at age 17. In 1947, he married Jennie nee Genovesi from Bedford Hills, New York.
Ross served in World War II U.S. Army as Sargeant & Seaman in the Pacific Region from 1942 to 1946. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 136 in Mt. Kisco.
Ross was caretaker of two estates, REDTOPS for 32 years and HIGH WINDS till he retired in 1991. He was selflessly dedicated to his family. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his flowers and vegetables with his family and friends and was an absolute diehard NY Yankee fan. He was an honest, generous, humble, patient, hard-working and kind hearted man who always had a smile on his face. His loving and compassionate heart will be sorely missed by everyone he touched throughout his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children; a son, Anthony Cutri (Barbara); his daughter, Barbara Cutri-Spadaccia; his grandchildren, Michael and Marc, all of Mt. Kisco, NY. He was predeceased by his loving wife in 2007, Jennie (nee Genovesi), adoring grandson, Christopher Cutri, son-in-law, Frank Spadaccia; sister, Antonia Bueti and brother, Dominick Cutri.
The family will receive friends at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 East Main St., Mt. Kisco, NY, on Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Bedford, NY on Saturday at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North East Westchester Special Recreation, 63 Bradhurst Avenue, Hawthorne, New York 10532, an organization that provides recreational programs for children and adults with special needs.
