I am so sorry to hear of cousin Hazel's passing. I remember those visits on Christmas morning many years ago when my family would stop to exchange small gifts. Thor, I have fond memories of those times you worked for my dad, Billy Smith, at Smithson woodcraft shop? Your mom was a beautiful strong lady and I'm sure she will be missed terribly. Your cousin, Carole

I am so deeply saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. Although our paths did not cross often (except on the ball field), I will always remember her gentile, kind spirit. As I read about her amazing life, I realize how courageous she must have been. I hope you find that same courage and know that she is now at peace.
With all our love,
Claire & Ken

Your mom was wonderful. When Pastor Matt started at Mt. Kisco, he had various members interview other congregants. I was lucky enough to interview Hazel. What I remember most from that interview was that Chow-Chow was always on the kitchen table for every meal in her family. I've only seen it for sale once and it is in a place called the Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Whenever we pass through there, I think of her. She was the best! Love, prayers, and blessings.

Just wanted to extend my deepest condolences to you for Aunt Hazel. She used to have the best Thanksgiving dinners when we were kids. I especially loved the throwing of the kernels of corn after she told the story of Thanksgiving. She used to put so many people in that living room for a sit down dinner! I also loved all the craziness in the kitchen and the horseshoes outside. We also used to walk down to the park near her house to play even when it was extremely cold. Great memories.....
Wishing you peace at this difficult time.

My Dear Thor and Leanne, Having lived and grown up across the street from one another I remember your entire family so very fondly. Just knowing you were there gave us all another layer and feeling of safety and security in an ever changing world. We were, all of us, all so lucky to be there...in that time and place...in that town...and on that street. As we all made our ways into the greater world, I happened to come back home again to care for my ailing mother in her time of need. It was then I came to realize, fully, how important great people and good neighbors really are. Your mother extended her hand to me many times during those months and up until I, once again, left Mt. Kisco to continue my life. While I may be absent from you, my heart and thoughts are with you. As memories flood our hearts and minds I will remember, always, her kindnesses, strength and the light in which she walked. May she rest in God's love and may you find peace always. With All My Love, Chris B.

Hazel was such a good friend of my mom, Sarah Jane Wuchinich, who died in January 30, 2008. My mom got to know her through her work with the Methodist Church and the craft bizarre. They would meet on Wednesdays at my mom's home to make crafts and so enjoyed it.
After my mom had a severe debilitating stroke in 2001 that left her unable to talk and walk, Hazel visited her along with other close freiends and I know those visits were much appreciated by mom. She was such a treasured friend, who died on my mom's birthday. I hope that signifies something very positive.
You are all so privileged to have had her in your family.
