Obituary of Mary Ann Apollo

Mary Ann Apollo was born to Peter and Mary Sanna on November 18, 1931 in New York where she lived with her sister Rosalie, who predeceased her. She married the love of her life, Frank Apollo on July 4, 1954. Frank and Mary Ann met at the age of 17 through mom's close friend Lorraine Ingenito who turned out to be Frank's cousin. It was a perfect match from day one and they were inseparable for almost 67 years until Frank passed on July 20th, 2014. To know Mary Ann was to recognize she had lost her life partner. Mary Ann passed away on October 10th, 2014 at the age of 82. She is survived by her three children and their spouses - Marianne and the late Pietro B. Tramelli, Frank and Maria Apollo, and Lorraine and Joseph Bernardi. She was a grandmother to six wonderful grandchildren – Frank Michael, Anthony, Nicholas, Victoria, Danielle, and Joseph. Mary Ann was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who made family her #1 priority and took pride in all of her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. The pictures that fill their home in every room attest to her love and devotion to her family. Mary Ann retired to Port Richey, Florida with Frank in June of 1996 where they enjoyed an active social life as part of the Lakes of Regency Civic Association. You could always count on Mary Ann to lend a helping hand with every event from cooking and serving food, ticket sales, and assisting with bookkeeping. Mary Ann was a teacher, source of comfort, and cheerleader for both her children and grandchildren. Her passing soon after Frank's leaves a deep hole in the hearts of her family and friends. Our only comfort is that Frank and Mary Ann are again together – happy and healthy - two angels watching over us!
