Rev. Msgr. Daniel V. Flynn formerly of Mt. Kisco, NY died on October 20, 2014 at the John Cardinal O'Connor Clergy Residence in Riverdale at the age of 91. Msgr. Flynn was born in Stamford, Ct. on January 2, 1923 to Daniel V. Flynn and Edna C. Kuehn. Msgr. Flynn graduated from St. Francis Grammar School, Cathedral Prep and Cathedral College. After completing the course at St. Joseph Seminary he was ordained a priest by Cardinal Spellman in St. Patrick's Cathedral on April 17,1948. He attended the North American College in Rome for three years and was awarded a doctorate in Canon Law in 1951. When he returned to the United States he fulfilled various assignments and in 1954 was appointed Professor of Moral Theology and Canon Law at St. Joseph's Seminary. Msgr. Flynn had the distinction of being the first priest ordained from Mt. Kisco. He also served with honor and dignity as the pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers and St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison. Msgr. Flynn is survived by two sisters, Mary (Patrick) Hart and Margaret Duffy and was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Thomas Flynn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 East Main St., Mt. Kisco on Thursday from 1-4PM & 6-9PM and on Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Church from 9:30AM to 10:00AM with a Requiem Mass to follow. Interment St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory to the John Cardinal O'Connor Clergy Residence preferred.
