Obituary of Joseph Pietropaolo

Joseph J. Pietropaolo “Peachs”, of Carmel, NY and a former longtime resident of Yonkers died peacefully on October 22, 2014 at the age of 86. He was born in Yonkers on January 4, 1928 to Nicola and Frances Pietropaolo and attended Yonkers Public Schools. Joe joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and was an active member of the Armando Rauso Amvets Post #40. For many years he worked as a butcher and meat cutter for A&P and Shopwell Supermarkets and was also the supervisor of their meat departments. Beloved husband for 62 years of Mary (Rubio) Pietropaolo. Devoted father of Joseph (Maria), Andrew (Pamela), Gary (Elizabeth) and Steven (Karen) Pietropaolo. Loving brother of the late Camile Perkins and Rosario (Russell) Pietropaolo. Also survived by nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Friday from 2-8 PM. Funeral mass at Mt. Carmel Church on Saturday at 10:00 AM followed by entombment at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
