Gloria (née Marsh) Liptak, passed away on November 17, 2014. Born in Yonkers, New York on July 28, 1925 she was the first daughter of the late Mary (Marganella) and Anthony Marsh (Masciarelli). Gloria was a graduate of what was then Girl’s Vocational High School in Yonkers. At the 1939 World’s Fair Opening Ceremony she represented Luxembourg with her Girl Scout Troupe. During the war years she was a seamstress/finisher at Saks Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. She enjoyed painting in watercolors and was a supporter of disabled veterans. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Liptak; sister Irene (Marsh) Mendonza of East Sandwich, MA; daughter Karen (Liptak) Larmon of Kennebunk, ME; two grandchildren, Janine (Larmon) Peterson and Justin Larmon; and a great grandchild, Jillian Larmon. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY on Thursday from 10 AM- 11 AM followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Queen’s Daughters Day Care Center, 73 Buena Vista Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10701, which she attended as a child in the 1930s.
