Noemia Flaminio, 94 of Irvington, NY and formerly of Yonkers died peacefully on December 26, 2014. Noemia was born in New Bedford, Ma. on December 19, 1920 to Rosa and Alfred Ribeiro. She lived most of her life in Yonkers with her husband, Joaquim whose was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Yonkers Portuguese American Club. Noemia worked as a seamstress for Dolly Sportswear and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She spent countless hours sewing outfits for her daughter and grandsons. Beloved wife of the late Joaquim Flaminio. Devoted mother of Elaine (Prudencio) Viera. Cherished grandmother of Daniel Viera, Mark (Kristina) Viera and Justin (Elizabeth) Viera and great grandmother of Joshua, Alexander and Effie Viera. She was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring St., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Funeral mass at St. Matthew Church on Tuesday at 10:00AM. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Childrens' Hospital preferred.
