SEXUAL PREDATOR KEN MCLAUGHLIN coached for 50+ yrs at the Boyd 326 Council Knight of Columbus, Bronx, Squires & Turkeys Basketball Teams. If you were a victim of his abuse it can tear at your self-worth and self-image. I applaud the courage of those who have come forward. You are not alone.

Ken McLaughlin's sexual abuse can affect you in all facets of your life whether it’s marriage or professional, whatever it is. It can affect decision-making. It can creep into everything. It tears at your self-worth and your self-image. Please get help.

My Squire brother David Connelly said it all. Ken was my surrogate father. He helped me set up the Squire Dances at 2605 Grand Concourse when I was Chief Squire; he helped me when I had issues in Fordham College; he helped me in Fordham Law School; he helped my son, also Daniel, at the USMA West Point.
An extraordinary man by any measure. I miss him still

McLaughlin joined Boyd Council #326 Knights of Columbus in April 1946 and became involved with that organization’s youth program, the Father Duffy Squires Circle #186. He was Chief Counselor and Youth Director and served in that position from 1946 until 2004. McLaughlin also established himself as a basketball coach at the Knights of Columbus for the Fr. Duffy Squires on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx where he systematically sexually abused hundreds of neighborhood boys involved in the KOC youth program. Robert Austin was a coach at “the Squires” who also reportedly engaged in sexual abuse.

I was very sorry to hear about Ken. He was an amazing man who just gave and gave. With the exception of my father, Ken was the most influential man in my early life. As a player on the basketball team and baseball teams of Fr. Duffy, Ken made growing up in the Bronx wonderful. the countless hours [ as well as personal $$$] he spent on youth was and is unbelievable. I will never forget the coach who some opponents referred to as " Old Abe Lincoln"
Rest in peace Ken. You deserve it. Thanks.

Ken,
You were the smartest & greatest man I ever met in my entire life. You gave me advice when I needed like no other. You were a father figure to so many. You never asked for anything in return for all your time you provided for the Father Duffy Squires & Knights Of Columbus. You never hesitated to setup a game whether against MMCC or Allentown JCH. We were always ready to go without hesitation. You handled yourself always with dignity, class & a quiet cool. You always managed to keep the Squires busy either thru a sport or ice skating or special Olympics & we all thank you for that. I am sorry I did not get to say goodbye & I apologize for that. I hope we meet again. Eternal rest on behalf of the Honan family, thank you for everything. Esto Dignus Be Worthy.....John Honan
