Fay D. Landi, also known to her family as Fanny, a longtime Yonkers resident died peacefully on February 16, 2015 after a brief illness. Fay was born on 117th Street in Manhattan on December 24, 1926 to Giuseppe and Raffaela (Mele) D’Elia. She was the youngest of three children. The family moved to Brooklyn when Fay was a young child. Upon her graduation from Bay Ridge High School, Fay became the bookkeeper for a law firm on Wall Street, and then office manager for N.A. Lougee Co., consulting engineers on Broadway in NYC.
On November 8, 1958 she married the love of her life, Alphonse A. Fay was a devoted mother and homemaker; there wasn’t anything she would not do for her family and friends; family meant everything to her, and her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. In 1991 Fay returned to work as a receptionist/bookkeeper for her daughter, Dr. Denise D. Landi and she retired in 2002.
