Ruth Geissinger Robertson. M.D. (1916-2015) Ruth Geissinger Robertson of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., passed away peacefully Monday, March 16, 2015, a month away from her 99th birthday. Born in New York City, she was a graduate of Hunter High School and Hunter College. She received an MD from the University of Michigan in 1939, one of 8 women in a class of 80. Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she moved to Mt. Kisco in 1948 where she worked at Planned Parenthood for more than 35 years. She also had a private practice and worked as a part-time physician for the local school district. She was an active volunteer for many organizations, including the Northern Westchester Hospital Library, the New York Unit of the Herb Society, the First Congregational Church of Chappaqua, and the Katonah Community Center. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Robertson, MD. Devoted mother of Jamie Robertson of Fort Worth, TX, Edie Manza of Gaithersburg, MD, Jean Robertson of Indianapolis, IN, and Susan Robertson of Milwaukee, WI. Also survived by 7 loving grandchildren: Douglas & Paul Robertson; Matt & Stephen Manza; James, Erica & John Machulak. She leaves a large extended family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church of Chappaqua June 27 at 2 PM.
