George Genovesi, age 87. of Bedford Hills, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 2, 2015. George was born and raised in Bedford Hills to the late Amato and Maria Genovesi. In 2009 he married Alice Retter from Beford Hills. George served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy reaching the rank of Seaman Second Class. He was also a dedicated member of the Bedford Village Fire Department for 60 years. For many years George worked as a auto mechanic first for Potter Buick in Mt. Kisco and then for Bedford Exxon and Bedford Shell. He was a very active parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Bedford where he enthusiastically volunteered at the church carnival's food booth and an usher for 40 years. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Alice of Bedford Hills, a sister, Sue Panetta of Dover, NJ, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and stepchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Joe Genovesi, and his sisters, Jennie Cutri, Eleanor Burger and Ann Paganelli. The family will receive friends at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 East Main St., Mt. Kisco on Tuesday from 5-9PM. Funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church (Bedford) on Wednesday at 11:00AM. Interment St. Francis Cemetery.
