Obituary of Janet M. Pergola

Janet Pergola, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York, died peacefully on September 7, 2015. She was beloved wife to her husband Joseph Pergola, mother to sons Joseph Pergola Jr. and James Pergola, and proud grandmother of two grandchildren, Joseph Pergola and Sienna Pergola. Janet is survived by her siblings Rose Palermo (John Palermo), and Donald Nunziato; her late sister, Donna Rose Nunziato, rests peacefully with parents Donald and Nancy Nunziato. Janet graduated from Commerce High School. She was employed by the Yonkers Public Schools as a teacher’s aide, and at Hudson Valley Bank for over 20 years as a teller and Assistant Branch Manager. Janet loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was known for her delicious cooking. Services will be held in Yonkers, NY at Sinatra Funeral Home (601 Yonkers Avenue) on Wednesday, September 9, from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm. A celebration of a Catholic funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 10, at 10am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (70 Park Hill Avenue) with burial at St Joseph’s Cemetery (209 Truman Avenue). Please see tabs at left for further information.
