EULOGY FOR MY FATHER
The following are words I thought of as a Eulogy for my father. The eulogy never materialized due to a fear of getting too emotional. I wish I wasn’t so afraid of my emotions getting the best of me:
I remember my father as a kind and gentle man with a very sweet smile. He was quick to want to give us whatever he could; he always asked if we needed money, if my gas tank was full. He was always telling me how good I looked-sometimes he even said I was beautiful. Although this was a little ego boost, he said that to everyone-in his eyes everyone was beautiful, everyone looked good.
It’s said that God puts people in your life for a reason. My father had many challenges and limitations but through it all he taught us so much. He taught us patience, understanding and humility. I am grateful that when it became too hard for my Mom to care for him at home, and impossible for him to lead a life with any quality, he was able to go to his final resting place. None of us wanted him to suffer.
Daddy, I am grateful for your memories.
With Much Love,
Carol
