To the Family and Family members of the Yonkers FD for Tony Mangone,
I met Tony many years ago in the North End of Boston during my neighborhood Italian Feast Madonna Della Cava with his best Buddy Al who was the entertainment for our Feast. We immediately fell in love with both of them. But Tony was just wow; personality plus and just the life of the party. They became part of our feast family. He and I just hit it off and always stayed in touch and hung out as well during the feast and so many other times in NYC. He was so crazy about his daughter it gave me chills to see a giant like him in every way get all mooshy about that beautiful daughter of his it was great! And he was so so proud of his guys in his fire house! Loved hearing stories about the firehouse.
I have no words for this awful news I'm so heartbroken to think I can't break chops with this truly dynamite guy that would make my stomach hurt from laughing pick my spirits up when I was down and make fun of my Boston accent but gave me a pass because I was a Yankee fan like him..! Tony you will be missed thank you for being my friend it was an honor to have known you and I will forever cherish great memories. Christine Bevilacqua North End Boston VIVA as you would say!

Oh Anthony, I cannot believe that you left us so soon. We didn't have enough time in this life with you. Your beautiful daughter lost not just her father, but the one person in this world who made her feel safe and loved. That will always make my heart hurt because I know she hurts. You have been a part of my family for so long that I don't know what life will be like without you. You have been a big brother to my nieces. You were the son of my sisters' heart. You have loved them all through the years (as they loved you) and you were the rock that held them all together. You were a concerned and loyal friend to my brother - he loved you like a brother. You were basically everything to everyone of us. Our holidays will NEVER be the same and neither will any of our family gatherings. And what can I possibly say about our family vacations? Rehoboth Beach will always have your chair waiting for you down by the water. - because we all know how much you needed to work on that tan and catch a few zzz's. To me, you were a nephew, a cousin and a friend all rolled into one. I will miss you immensely - probably more than you would have ever have imagined. I hope that you are sitting back, sipping a dirty martini and shooting the breeze with your mom. I know your mom loved you the way you loved your baby bear. You can rest assured knowing that we will all always be there for Alexa as you were for all of us. Until we meet again, you will always be in my heart. Thank you for your service to this country, to the people of NY during 911 and to the people of Yonkers for keeping us safe. But mostly, thank you for your love and friendship throughout the years. You were truly an outstanding, superb, honorable, generous and all-around great family man who will never be forgotten. Mangone, we loved you my friend. RIP. And I'll see you at Penny Lane. xoxo.
