Edwin John Alban of Mt. Kisco, NY, 84 died on March 14, 2016 peacefully after a courageous battle surrounded by his loving family. Edwin was born of December 26, 1931 to the late John Edwin Alban and Clair Alban in Astoria, Queens. He attended school in Mt. Kisco graduating from Mt. Kisco High School in 1950. Edwin served in the Air Force from 1951-1953 after being discharged, he joined the U.S. Postal Service in Mt. Kisco where he worked for 31 years retiring in 1986. After retiring, he went to work for Weber Systems in Mt. Kisco from 1986-2001. He also worked as a school crossing guard for 5 years. Ed was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the American Legion Post #136. Ed was an avid bowler and loyal Jets and Mets fan attending many games. He loved being surrounded by his loving family and spending summer days in his pool or at the Jersey Shore. He was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed. Ed leaves behind his loving wife, Marilyn, of over 60 years of marriage. He also leaves his children Pam (Rick) Woodward, Scott (Priscilla) Alban and Diane (Bob) Denman, his 6 grandchildren Tom (Crystal) Placona, David Placona, Melissa (Nick) Harnden, Peter Alban, Brittanie and Robert Denman and his great grandson Noah Harnden and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Oelker- Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home 262 East Main Street. Mt, Kisco, NY 10549 on Friday from 2-4 &7-9PM. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Saturday at 10am followed by interment at St. Francis Cemetery. We would like to thank the nurses and patient care associates at NWHC for the wonderful care and support they had given to Ed and his family. Also a special thank you to Hospice for their support. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Ed's memory to St. Francis of Assisi Church or a charity of your choice.
