Obituary of Jose Rodriguez

Jose Rodriguez, age 95, of Hastings-on-Hudson died Saturday, August 27, 2016. Jose was born November 23, 1920 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico the son of the late Estanislao and Faustina (Martinez) Rodriguez. He served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. He was employed as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service, a courier for several banking institutions and later the driver for the Hastings Senior bus up until his retirement at 91. Jose was past Commander of the Admiral Farragut American Legion Post 1195 in Hasting-on-Hudson and was very proud of his service to his country. He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria Dolores (Gallo) Rodriguez, Devoted father of Charles S. Rodriguez and the late Joseph. Dear father-in-law of Patricia Rodriguez. Loving grandfather of Jennifer (Richard) Lanza, Julie (Billy) Kavaleski, Joseph Patrick (Vanessa) Rodriguez, Sarah, Paul, Marisa, Lauren and Michael Rodriguez. Also surviving is his sister Frances Myers and 8 great grandchildren Jose was pre-deceased by his son Joseph, his brother Ernesto and his sister Dalia. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2PM to 4PM & 7PM to 9PM at Hastings Funeral Home, Inc., 15 Spring Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 at Hastings Funeral Home, Inc., 15 Spring Street, Hastings-on-Hudson. Interment will be in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley.
