Emilia Ribeiro, age 88, of Cortlandt Manor, a longtime resident of Yonkers died Saturday, September 24, 2016. Emilia was born October 28, 1927 in Arcozelo, Portugal the daughter of the late Artur and Annuncicao Lopes Almeida. Emilia enjoyed her crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family, she was also a devoted member of her Rosary group. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Americo Ribeiro, her devoted children Fernanda "Fern" (Manny) Pires, Diana (Adelino) Pastilha and Rick (Sandra) Ribeiro. Also surviving are her eight cherished grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her sister Gloria Boino. Emilia was predeceased by her brother Joaquim Almeida. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. The funeral mass will be Wednesday at 10:00 at St. Mary's Church, 103 S. Broadway, Yonkers. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Calvary Hospital and the American Cancer Society in her memory.
