Dear Nanny Pat..my heart is broken...Shadow and Princess are waiting on the rainbow bridge for you. Cindy is watching and knows you will be there for her. I will always remember how you loved the animals, fed the cats, took care of our pets for us. You are an angel to the pets. Love and miss you. I used to say Dee from Mt.Vernon.......

My sincere condolences to Jan and other family and friends of Pat.
I am so glad to read what others have written and learn of her many friends and the wonderful work she was doing to help animals.
Pat and I were best friends at PS 5. I loved sleeping over at her house. If we were lucky her mom would cook raviolis for dinner and then let us stay up really late to watch horror movies - something that wasn't allowed at my house.
We lost touch after that, except for running into each other once in 1969 or '70. I was meeting Fordham friends at a bar under the 3rd Ave. El and when I walked in, there was Pat, sitting at the bar. Neither one of us could believe our eyes!
I only found out recently that she was still living on Lockwood Ave. and planned to send her a birthday card in Feb. So wish I hadn't waited!
I don't see the captions I tried to post with my photos:
1. Book Club Meeting at my house 1958
2. Dec. 1958 - taken at a pond off Tuckahoe Rd. Unfortunately Pat fell and got all wet right after my Dad took the photo and we had to go home without skating. Those striped scarves were a big deal to us! If I'm remembering correctly we saved up to buy them at a little clothing store on Lockwood. Pat's was red and white.
3. Early Spring 1961 - Pat modeling her first 7th grade sewing project.

Pat,
You are in Heaven now for sure.
I had the privilege of being your friend for many years and now you are gone.
We, who are left behind will continue to try to help the animals that we can, but there are few people in this world that care as much as you did.
May God bless you for all that you have done, and you will be in my thoughts always
your friend forever,

I want to extend my special sympathy to you on Pat's sudden death.
We are old friends, as I too look after pets in this area.
I always looked forward to meeting Pat, enjoyed talking with her, and I shared the deep concern of all her many friends to see her health decline in recent months.
She was the "go to" person for All Things Animal in my world, ever generous with her knowledge, experience and time. I loved her vibrant spirit, dedication and strength. I smile to remember her descriptions of well-deserved nights out with friends when she would eat, drink and make merry with abandon. I liked and admired Pat deeply, and it seems impossible, unfair, that she left us so soon, so suddenly.
When I learned of her death, I was shocked and saddened and there is still such a vacancy in my heart to think she is gone, that I will not meet her again during my days. She gave me one of her rescue cats, and all I could do was hug her and say with tears "Peaches, Nanny Pat has passed away." Our household at 123 Millard grieves with you.
Only think of all the animals she helped, and the people who trusted her over decades and decades! I know she has gone on to Paradise, where her many dear ones are all waiting gladly to greet her, and that kind Saint Francis will welcome her with special joy and fellowship as a bringer of comfort and love.
Meanwhile, here below, we all miss her so.
With deepest sympathy, Leslie Heiner and the 123 Cats.

My Friend Pat, who "decided to keep me".
Her words made me smile and resonated in my mind as i exited the meeting where we first came together, along with other advocates on behalf of stray cats.
And i decided to "keep her". She was like a big sister. Her stories fascinated me and made me laugh. She was always willing to show up and lend her hand or her voice. She shared her time, her knowledge, her circle of people and her love of all creatures.
She also shared her thoughts, especially when she'd had enough of someone else's.
Though despite her strong outer shell, she was a softie underneath.
I know it was not easy for her to ask for help. She preferred to help others.
I'm thankful that she entrusted me to help care for her beloved clients. They were her life and she appreciated hearing their daily updates and stories while she took some time off. It was only supposed to be some time. What she did for all of them she did not do for herself.
She left us too soon. I can only hope she knew how much she meant to so many and how much she is missed.
Rest in Peace My Friend

We want to help Pat's beloved cats. So we have visited them at the Yonkers Animal Shelter and it's breaking our hearts. These poor things aren't doing well and of course they have no idea why they've been displaced from their good home into this tough environment. Her cats are beautiful and very friendly. There are nine. Some of them are older which means they'll be at the shelter for a very long time. Sarah of Cat Assistance, who's a good friend of Pat's, is desperately trying to find homes or other rescue groups that can take one or two of them out of the shelter into a better setting. Pat would be happy to know that her cats are being well cared for. Please if you can adopt one, if you know anyone who can provide a good home, or if you have any contacts with legitimate rescue groups who can help please call Sarah at 914-328-1609. Thank you for anything you can do!

My Dad has a huge extended family, but my Mom's was smaller & local. As I grew up my cousin Patricia was a fixture at our house. She was close to my Mom, & was so much fun. Along with my Mom & my best friend Cathy McIntyre Dillane we went to our first concert, & Pat was like a cool Aunt. The love of her life were God's creatures. They were her "children," her heart & what she dedicated her life's energy to. She helped me clean out my Mom's house, & promised my Mom to look out for Lexi & I. We would go to Bronxville for dinner several times a week as our reward for our exhausting work. I will never forget her & am so sad about this loss. Lets celebrate her Life now.

Pat was our beloved friend and "Nanny" to Kelly and Gavin. Pat was an angel in our lives. She was a fixture at our home on Christmas Day or New Years Day brunch for many years. No doubt she has crossed the rainbow bridge to be with all the animals (human ones, as well) whom she loved and who loved her unconditionally.
She is a one-of-a-kind gal. Here's hoping there is heavy metal music in the heaven she sailed into on the strength of all the wonderful good deeds she performed in her life.
With sadness and great love,

I remember Pat sharing with us her passion for animals and how she changed her life course to do something that she really loved and believed in.
May you find comfort during this difficult time. Sending our deepest sympathies and sincerest appreciation.

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to say Patrica L. Fallon, Vice-President of the Center, passed away on December 30, 2016. Pat not only worked tirelessly to assist the Center in rescuing wildlife and educating the public about what they could do to help wildlife. but also assisted domestic animals in need as well. Pat was instrumental in leading the Center toward their first fundraiser, which is scheduled in April 2017. We will never forget Pat's infectious laugh, her funny stories and gratiousness. Her decades of knowledge, gained from her experience assisting and rescuing all creatures will also be sorely missed. The Center plans to name the Raven aviary, one of Pat's favorite birds, in memory of her.

What a pleasure and privilege it was to know Pat. What a sense of humor. Her incredible stories were so entertaining. Mostly, I'm in awe of her marvelous and tireless work as an animal rescuer. Over the years I'm sure she positively impacted the lives of hundreds of needy animals. I'm glad the shelter has all her cats and they're safe and warm as they await their new homes. I understand her outside cats are being fed by her kind friends and I thank them for this. Pat, you will be missed on so many levels. Rest in peace my admirable friend.

I wish there had been more time. Pat had a larger than life personality that you only come across a handful of times in life. She was one of the funniest people I ever knew and could make anyone laugh with all of her stories. Most important was her unconditional love of animals. Her passing is a huge loss for so many. She will be forever missed. Way too young, especially since there was so much more she wanted to do.

I'm am deeply grieving Pat's departure from this world, but know she is up in heaven, feeling healthy and happy. Pat was a friend who I shared many meals, laughs and deep conversations . She was smart and logical and so very knowledgeable with animals. We met in 2005 and she helped me out on numerous occasions.
My little doggy " Buttercup" loved her so much, she would run after her car, and Pat would take her visiting other dogs and cats ...They literally had dates.
You could see them driving by, Pat with her sun glasses on, my dog riding shot gun, or hanging out the window...smiles on both of their faces. I can see it perfectly now in my mind...and that picture will stay in my heart forever.
Sweet lady, Rest in peace !

Pat was one of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever been lucky enough to know. She had a deep empathy for all God's children - fuzzy and human and deeply loved her Mom and her furry kids. I met her as a pet-sitter and rescue person - our paths overlapped - and when she cared for my cats when I had to be away they acted like I never left because she had a magic way with our furry children, I pray she is at peace with her Mom and other loved ones as well as all her furry kids who have been patiently waiting for her, She has left us far too young - there is a hole in our world with out her, Peace to her family - she will truly be missed,
