Helen (Czujak) Donahue, age 100, of Yonkers, NY, entered eternal rest on Sunday May 7th, 2017 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY. Helen was born on December 19th, 1916 in Yonkers NY. Her parents, John and Magdalena Czujak came to the United States from Poland. She was one of 5 children with her sisters being Estelle, Florence, and Jean, and her brother Benjamin. Helen had dreams of joining the Waves after the outbreak of World War II but instead decided to settle down and start a family. She married her beloved, Joseph Donahue, on December 31st, 1942 in Fort Worth Texas. She was the mother of two daughters, Lynn and Geraldine who she adored and cherished. Helen, a lover of numbers, worked as a bookkeeper for many years with various companies. Later in life, Helen was drawn to the entertainment industry, with roles in several commercials, and even a small appearance on the show, Saturday Night Live. Helen enjoyed traveling to the islands and Atlantic City for vacations. She could frequently be seen working on a crossword puzzle, drinking a hot cup of tea, having a slice of Entemann's pound cake, and a dog always at her side. Helen is survived by her daughter Geraldine (Donahue) Mcgowan, and sister Jean (Czujak) Clarkson. Helen leaves behind 5 grandchildren; John Mcgowan, James and Kelly Davey, and Karyn and Michael Morehouse. Wake services will be held at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. Yonkers, NY on Wednesday May 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 11th at 11am. Entombment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.
