Obituary of Frances Nigrello

Frances Nigrello, 92 Frances 'Fran" Nigrello, 92 of Yonkers NY passed away on July 19, 2017. Fran was born on November 2, 1924 in Yonkers NY to Serafino and Santa Barbarita. Frances attended Commerce High School in Yonkers. On May 24, 1947, she married Louis Nigrello at Mt. Carmel Church. Louis preceded her in death on May 20, 2016. Fran worked at Genung's department store in Yonkers, she was an Executive Secretary at Ciba Geigy in Ardsley, and most recently at La Gravinese Jewlers in Bronxville. In addition to her work outside the home she was a consummate mother and homemaker. Fran was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends both here in Yonkers and their home in Delray Beach, Florida. Fran was very active in the community as a trustee for the Enrico Fermi Scholarship Committee and as an active member of the Park Hill Racquet Club. Fran is survived by her 3 children, Sandra Duffield, Francine Nigrello and Robert Nigrello; 7 grandchildren Christopher, Craig, Ryan and Kathryn Duffield, Amanda, Elizabeth and Gregory Nigrello and great granddaughter Eloise Duffield. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Roy Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Sinatra Funeral Home, Inc, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11:30 at St. Pius X, 91 Secor Rd, Scarsdale, NY. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetary in Yonkers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester.
