Pietro Gildo DiBerardino, 87, a longtime resident of Yonkers, New York passed away due to a sudden illness on July 29, 2009. He was born in Corvara, Italy on April 26, 1922 to the late Sabatino and Maria Mariani DiBerardino. He was a laborer by trade and was a member of Local 208. Upon his retirement he enjoyed spending his days amongst friends and shopping. He was an avid gardener who was very proud of the fruits of his labor. Pietro was well known and loved by his family and friends due to his very generous and giving heart. He will be remembered by many for his delicious sandwiches and peasant dishes that he often cooked for his lunchtime guests. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Lidia, daughters Anna Maria (Robert) Capuano, Alicia (Lorenzo) Barrasso, grandchildren Marisa (James) Gerri, Lorenzo Barrasso Jr. and Claudia Barrasso and two great-grandchildren Anthony James and Mateo Lorenzo Gerri. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Arturo (Patricia) DiBerardino, Sabatino (Olga) DiBerardino, Maria (Harold) Violette, Elia DiBerardino, Michelina (Donato) Giuliani, Andrea (Anna) DeMartins and all thier respective children. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Americo, Giulio, Gialsomino, Marietta, Giovana, Anna, Ersilia and Loreta. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Yonkers followed by entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum. May all that think of him say "Happy Easter" whenever they have a drink of wine in his memory. www.SinatraFFH.com
