William H. Boss, age 91, of Yonkers died Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Mr. Boss was born February 7, 1918 in the Bronx to the late Frank and Gertrude (Feeney) Boss. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 during World War II as a Major in the 30th Division Combat Liaison. He landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944 and received both the Bronze Service Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Empire and Bajart Posts of Yonkers. Beloved husband of the late Margaret ( Bianca) Boss. Loving father of Barbara (Lawrence) Wixon and William F.(Donna) Boss. Devoted Grandfathert of William Boss and great grandfather of Gillian and William Boss; Sister-in-law of Rose Brady and Mary White and uncle of Gerard Boss, Patty McDowell and William Chapman. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7PM to 9PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 at St. Mary's Church ( Mt. Vernon), 23 South High St, Mt Vernon. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
