Obituary of Theresa A. Silvestro

Theresa A. Silvestro (Sansone) of Yonkers, New York, passed away suddenly on February 20, 2018. Theresa was born on December 23, 1934 in Yonkers. The daughter of Louis and Margaret (DiLascio) Sansone. Wife of the late Joseph Silvestro. Predeceased by brother, Edward Sansone and sister, Margaret (Sansone) Lamendola. She is survived by her devoted daughters, MaryAnn (Gary Goodrich) and Margaret (Peter Van Slyck) and loyal nephew, Richard Lamendola (Christina), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. For many years, Theresa and Joseph, owned and operated Margie's Dry Goods Store on Willow Street in Yonkers. After selling the business, she worked as a Secretary for the Yonkers Career Center and the Yonkers Public School System. Theresa was an avid reader, enjoyed watching baseball games of the New York Yankees and looked forward to family get togethers. She especially cherished spending time on Ortley Beach at the Jersey Shore surrounded by her family. If she was feeling lucky, an Atlantic City casino served as a perfect getaway for a rainy beach day. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Sinatra Memorial Home located at 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10704. The funeral will be on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's Church, 10 Squire Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10703. Entombment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers.
