Nannina "Nan" Schachinger, 80, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at her home in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. She was born August 29, 1937 in the Bronx, N.Y. to Ralph and Alfonsina "Florence" Saccavino. Nan lived in Yonkers, N.Y. before moving to Hastings-on-Hudson in 1993. Prior to retirement, Nan was a mortgage officer at the Yonkers' Savings and Loan Association in Yonkers, N.Y. and was recognized by her community as a role model for women in business. While living in Yonkers, she spent countless hours volunteering and was a member and president of the Kiwanis Club in Yonkers. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting, sewing, choir singing, traveling and, most of all, being with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed more than words can express. She is survived by her husband John Schachinger of Hastings-on-Hudson; one daughter and two sons and their spouses, Laura and Joe Cogoni of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., John and Sherry Schachinger of Ridgefield, CT. and Joseph and Christine Schachinger of Eastchester, N.Y.; and six grandchildren Joey, Lexi, Gianna, Bianca, Michael and J.J. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8th from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hastings Funeral Home in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. Church mass will be held on Friday, March 9th at 10:30am at St. Matthew's Church in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
