Harriet C. Saladino, 80, of Yonkers, passed away on Friday, March 16th, 2018. She was born on August 8th, 1937 in New York, New York to David and Harriet MacIntosh. Harriet attended Saint Vincent's nursing school and went on to become a registered nurse. She married Vincent Saladino on November 29th, 1958 at St. Paul the Apostle church in Yonkers and raised four children. She continued her education as an adult attending Mercy College and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Harriet worked in various fields of nursing such as psychiatric, pulmonary care, neurosurgery and then finally as a school nurse in the Yonkers Public Schools for over twenty years until her retirement. Harriet enjoyed cooking, sewing, all types of music, dancing, gardening, doing crossword puzzles and taking care of her many animals but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Harriet was a selfless person who often donated to many different charities. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 59 years, Vincent M. Saladino. Predeceased by her cherished younger sister, Dorothy LoPresti. Very devoted and loving mother of Vincent (Lulu) Saladino of Yonkers, Jeanne (Michael) Gallagher of Mount Kisco, Christopher (Regina) Saladino of Tenafly, NJ and Denise (John) Viviano of Yonkers. She is the adored grandmother of John, Stephanie, Michael, Ryan, Kathryn, Samantha and Christopher. She is also a treasured aunt and friend. Harriet will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18th, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at Sinatra Funeral Home, 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY and a funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 19th, 2018 at 10am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 602 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
