Obituary of Antonia Leone

Text that is to appear on web must be entered after this line)« Antonia Leone, of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, surrounded by her loved ones on May 29, 2018. Antonia was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite pastime was being a homemaker and providing for her family. Antonia loved spending time with her husband, Vincenzo, making homemade tomato sauce and drinking a glass of wine that they prepared together. You could always find Antonia cooking up a classic Italian meal for all of her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Her meatballs and chicken cutlets were loved and enjoyed by all! Antonia cherished time spent with her family and everyone in the neighborhood reminiscing about the good times. She loved her family dearly and we will always remember how much joy she brought to everyone around her. Although her presence will be greatly missed, Antonia will remain forever in our hearts. Born in Torre di Ruggerio, Calabria, Italy on November 28, 1934 to Giuseppe and Caterina Decaria. Antonia married Vincenzo Leone in 1955 in Calabria, Italy. Antonia and Vincenzo immigrated to Yonkers, New York on February 3, 1973 with their five children to start a new chapter of their lives together. Antonia is survived by her 5 children: Giuseppe Leone (Graziella), Maria Malchar (Luddy), Graziano Leone (Lisset), Renato Leone and Caterina Ricciardi (John); her 9 grandchildren: Anthony, Antonella (Ralph), Vincent, Crisleidy, Nicholas, Giuseppe Jr., JohnDominic, Ariana, and Isabella; and her siblings: Mimmo Decaria (Lucia) and Giovanna Monteleone (Vito). Antonia is predeceased by her parents, Giuseppe and Caterina and her sisters, Francesca and Maria. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 31st from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc. at 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10704. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 1st at 10:45 AM at Saint John The Baptist 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. Interment will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery at 10 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 May she rest in the presence of the Almighty God.
