SUSAN SILINSKY SKIRKA (nee Panko), passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at age 98. Susan was born in Czechoslovakia on January 7, 1920 and educated there. She came to Yonkers in 1938. She worked at Ward Leonard as an assembler for over 19 years. She was a parishioner of St. Nicholas of Myra Church and a member of it's Ladies Guild. Susan was married to Emil Silinsky from 5/21/1951 until he passed away on 3/1/1970 and then to John Skirka from 10/12/1974 until he passed away on 4/29/1990. Susan is survived by her step-daughters, Elaine Skirka, Rosemarie Senenko, and Kathy Ann Porrazzo (Robert), whose kindness and help is deeply appreciated, 3 grand-children, Ashley, Mellisa and John, several nieces and nephews ,and several good friends, who helped Susan very much. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Mary Yedinak and Helen Surkala, and brothers, Peter, Joseph, and Andrew Panko. Visitation at Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers NY 10704, Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 4PM—8PM. Rite of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 11AM, in St. Nicholas of Myra Church (768 North Street, White Plains NY 10605). Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yonkers NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory, may be made to: St. Nicholas of Myra Church, Boys Town or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
