Sophie C. Minkewicz, age 89, of Hastings-on-Hudson died Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Mrs. Minkewicz was born December 15, 1919 in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. the daughter of the late Julius and Teckla (Teresko) Chemka. She was employed by Hastings High School as a Secretary. She is survived by two daughters: Francine Burke of Manorville, N.Y., Barbara Perreault two sisters: Carolyn Ott, Josephine Miller and two brothers: Frank R. Minkewicz, Julius Chemka Friends may call on Friday from at Hastings Funeral Home, Inc., 15 Spring Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 at St. Matthew Church, Warburton Ave., Hastings-on-Hudson. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
