Joseph William Cavorti, age 95, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 25, 1923 in Harlem, NY. He grew up in Yonkers, NY where he continued to live throughout his entire life. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II in the South Pacific, earning the rank of sergeant. Joseph married the love of his life, Bette Schaub, on May 19, 1956. He found success by establishing his own business, Cavorti Heating, doing oil burner repairs and installations. He retired at age 62 but continued to remain active until a couple of years before his passing. His passion was boxing and western movies but he gained the most enjoyment out of spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Bette; son, Emil (Donna); daughters, Linda Cavorti-Coelho (Jimmy), Joan Goldberg (David), and Dorothy Cavorti-Ferrara (Joey). He was a great "Poppy" to his 8 grandchildren: Joey (Maria), Dana (Kyle), Kyle, Alyssa (Andrew), David, Jimmy, Nicholas, and Christopher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Ave on Sunday from 4-8PM. Funeral mass at St. Ann's Church on Monday at 10AM. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Wounded Warrior Project or another veteran charity of your choosing.
