Warren J. Azzara of Pompano, Florida died October 6, 2018. Born August 3, 1923 to Angela and Joseph Azzara, Warren graduated from The Barnard School in Riverdale, N.Y. and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Graduating in 1949 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a professional engineer serving as President of Tibbetts Contracting Corp in Yonkers.
He retired in 1977 and was an avid boater actively involved with the Westchester Power Squadron where he earned the rank of Commander.
Warren enjoyed spending his summers in Cape Cod, MA and winters in Pompano Beach Fl.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Clare Ryan Azzara and his sister Elizabeth Azzara Sylvestri.
He is survived by 3 children, Christine Bartley of Bronxville New York, Joanne Parsons of Ridgewood, New Jersey and Warren Azzara, Jr. of Yonkers. In addition he had 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
