Josephine Dolores Hack of Mount Kisco, NY died January 2, 2019. She was born in Mount Kisco on March 27, 1923 to John J. Cooney and Anne Murphy Cooney. Josephine attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School in Mount Kisco, St. Mary's High School in Katonah, NY, St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in New York City and Syracuse University. She served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946 and evacuated wounded soldiers from the South West Pacific Islands in World War II. She held the rank of 1st Lieutenant. In 1947 she married Eugene T. Hack of Mount Kisco who predeceased her. She was one of the original nurses of the Mount Kisco Medical Group (now CareMount) when it was one small brown building in Mount Kisco, and for decades she was a nurse in their pediatrics department. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Mahopac Garden Club and the Mount Kisco Historical Society. Josephine is survived by her daughters Nancy Hack and Joanne Hack O'Meara. Her daughter Mary Jeanne Hack predeceased her. She is also survived by her son-in-law Denis O'Meara; grandchildren Kelly O'Meara Grayson, Kay O'Meara Lovig and Casey O'Meara; grandsons-in-law Scott Grayson and Leif Lovig; granddaughter-in-law Cassandra Saldutti O'Meara; and four greatgrandchildren. Visiting hours are Friday, January 4, 2-4 and 6-8 at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home in Mt. Kisco. Mass will be held on Saturday, January 5 at St. Patrick's Church in Bedford at 10 am, followed by burial at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Mt. Kisco.
